Welcome to our testimonial page. Here are just a few of the kind words that our guests wished to share;
By Brian Guthrie, September 2016
I recently had the privilege of partaking in a single gun day with my shooting buddy on Drummond Est. We were both in awe of the quality and quantity of the targets were presenting them self to our peg. From whistle to whistle it was truly spectacular, and it didn't take long to build a little competitiveness with they lads on the next peg down. I am local to Strathearn and still couldn't believe the picturesque scenery that the drives were set in they were truly breathtaking.
With the shooting, the scenery and the exemplary hospitality combined with flawless organisation and the variety of targets I can easily say that it has been the best day clay shooting I have experienced and would recommend to anyone.
I look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.

Great days sport as close to the real thing as you'll get. Stunning setting great hospitality and quality targets. Highly recommend it.

When I received the invite to a simulated game shoot I was a little apprehensive but I had the most fantastic experience. The volume and variety of clays certainly sharpened up my shooting.
Terry and his team did a wonderful job and together with his wife and daughter made us feel so welcome, the cooked lunch was amazing and the afternoon tea and homemade cakes finished off the day.
The scenery around the various drives is absolutely stunning, standing on your peg it is easy to forget this is a simulated day.
It was one of the most enjoyable days I have spent shooting and is one not to be missed, I for one hope to return soon.
My thanks to all involved.

Returning gun to a day which really is 'up there' with the real thing ....no feathers....but with the added advantage that you can learn from any (!!) misses given the quantity and quality of clays on every drive. (Took expert instruction which enhanced the day, skills and confidence so bad habits beware!) The location, views and all hospitality remain as 'red hot' as the barrels are after c. 250 cartridges.

Having experienced your hospitality on a previous occasion I managed to convince two friends, who are experienced guns, to join me and see for themselves what a brilliant experience your Simulated Shoot offers. There is such variety and something for everyone irrespective of how many years you may have stood at a peg. An abundance of clays and varied surroundings made for a super day that we all will remember and we will certainly come back. My friends felt that this was a unique experience that they had not seen the like of anywhere else.
A very big thanks to the ladies that fed us so well and to all the staff.

As somebody who is relatively new to shooting I cannot think of a better day out and introduction to driven shooting than a day spent with Terry and his team. I know that without the experience and knowledge gained on the simulated shoots I would not have had the confidence to partake in my first formal shoot last year.
No matter what your level of experience is, all of the drives provide fun and challenging ‘birds’ and are located in is some of Scotland’s most beautiful and majestic scenery. A word of caution though, make sure you take enough cartridges as the clays are plentiful no matter which peg you are on.
From the morning bacon rolls, elevenses, the delicious and filling 3 course lunch to the after-shoot cakes the girls really looks after you and you won’t go hungry.
Great shooting, great company, great scenery and great food, I don’t believe you could ask for more.

I just want to thank you for a challenging and professional day at the simulated game. I had an absolutely wonderful time and was delightfully surprised by the volume of traps and clays, which were excellent practice for the season.
From the start of the day with the bacon breakfast we were well fed by wonderful Ann who seems to magically produce grand lunches from almost nowhere. A good shoot is nothing without a good feed and the day provided both good food and good shooting.
In addition to the day being good practice for the season, it is in itself a wonderful day and I would recommend the experience to friends and family at any time. A really top day out!
Excellent work and thank you,

Thank you so much for a fantastic days shooting, on your, Simulated Driven Day.
I have worked within the clay pigeon shooting world for the last 30 years and have shot clays at international level in the 80’s and early 90’s and I have got to say I have never had so much fun shooting clays ever!
For someone to practice driven game shooting there is possibly no better practice out there.
The stunning countryside and the expertise of Terry and his team made the day run perfectly.
To Ann and Beth thank you so much for a very enjoyable lunch which was served in the lovely shooting lodge.
Thank you all for the most enjoyable day out in a long time.

I wanted to send you an email to thank both yourself and the rest of the team for a magnificent days shooting on Saturday.
The whole day from start to finish exceeded both my fathers and my own expectations. I truly cannot see how any of it could have been improved, so please do thank everybody behind the scenes who we did not get chance to thank face to face.
It really was well worth the 400+ mile drive up from Suffolk, and I would recommend it to any of my shooting friends. Stunning scenery, incredibly well organised, great company with plenty of ‘leg pulling’ throughout the day, challenging (and safe) shooting with a wide variety of locations and targets, tasty hearty food, and everything provided on the day as you promised.
You have all set the highest benchmark for our favourite pastime of shooting, and presented a wonderful birthday experience for my father, which we will both remember for a very long time.
Thank you – Matt (September 2012 – Single Guns Day)

Just a quick letter to thank you, your wife, daughter and all the team for organising a fantastic shoot this weekend. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day; some great shooting, amazing scenery along with good banter! I was most impressed with how smoothly everything went and this is a credit to both you and your team. A special mention also to your wife for the fantastic catering. I look forward to visiting Drummond again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the experience to friends and colleagues.

"Terry’s simulated game shoot was recommended to me by a friend who knew I was struggling to find a syndicate. I contacted Terry and booked on a mixed group day. It was very well organised and catered for, with 5 mixed drives, lunch and elevenses. The grouse drive on the moor being my favourite. I met some fantastic people and had my first driven shoot experience by shooting 250 cartridges over some outstanding Perthshire countryside. A great way to prepare for the coming season or experience a clay shoot with a difference. I’m looking forward to booking another day with Terry and his team."

"Having previously shot on the Drummond Estate with a group of friends I returned for a days shooting arranged for single guns. I was not disappointed. The company was excellent, everybody mixed and the conversation flowed all day. As usual the quality of the shooting, the organisation by Terry and his team and the catering by Ann and Beth were all of the highest quality, and of course the views are to die for. Whether in a syndicate or as a single gun this is an unmissable experience."

Thanks very much to you and your team for such a wonderful day on Saturday. The girls prepared lovely filling food, Alistair and Jimmy offered help and jokes, and the shooting- what can I say? The beautiful scenery, the challenging and unpredictable nature of the clays presented makes it as near to the real game shooting as I have ever experienced, and I have mis-spent many days in the field! The only thing different was NOT picking up birds at the end of each drive. Thanks once again and I will be back! Regards Richard Moore

"Thank you for the most spectacular day, very professionally run, we never saw any of the traps at any time until the last drive and the walk in to the drives made the whole thing feel like the a proper shoot, fantastic !!! well done.
Thank you again for a spectacular day, I will be back and I hope it all goes well for you in the future. Ronald Sandeman"

"Hi Terry, Thanks again for putting on a great simulated game shoot for us we were all very impressed and I couldn't think of a better way to have spent my stag day and we will see you again in the future I hope. Regards, Donald"

"Terry, thanks for a wonderful day yesterday. This was some of the best clay targets I've shot at in twenty years and in truly stunning scenery. Excellent organisation, brilliant food and great company. We'll be booking for next year and I suspect bringing a few more bodies with us once we tell everyone about it!! This really is as close as it gets to game shooting. Well done and keep up the good work."

"Had a very good day today. Great company and well run shoot. Will definitely be back. Thanks Terry."
By Richard, Scotland on 27 July 2011
Our simulated days driven grouse, partridge and pheasant far exceeded my expectation in its ability to recreate a real shoot. The organisation was first class, the traps never seen, the clays sporting and the catering first class from the bacon butties and coffee through lunch and on to tea. A great way to spend a day with friends in the closed season and first class practice with the gun. Thank you and all your team. I am sure we will be back!

"Had a great day. For those who've never tried it and think it's a poor substitute for the real thing - think again!"
By Lee Paterson on 17 June 2011
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your team in making our Simulated Driven Day such a fantastic experience. As all sixteen guns arrived at the bothy we were all greeted with a warm welcome, bacon rolls tea and coffee. Once the guns were paired up for the day ahead and the safety briefing done it was time to move on to the drives. The first drive was driven partridge fast and furious was to be the order of the day. With each gun taking turns at each drive our gun barrels were glowing. we then move on to the following five further drives of grouse, high pheasant and high driven partridge. With an excellent lunch and afternoon tea all included in the day.
Drummond Estate is one of the best Simulated Driven days the team of guns and myself have ever had the privilege to shoot. And would thoroughly recommend any team of guns to try This type of clay shooting."
By Hamish, Scotland on 15 June 2011
"A long overdue note to say a big thanks for our simulated shoot day. The whole thing was thoroughly enjoyed by all. You have put together a superb package and we all thought very reasonably priced!"
By Graham Davies, Sheffield on 13 June 2011
"Set within the grounds of a shooting estate in the stunning countryside of Perthshire this is an opportunity not to be missed. Competitively priced the novice shooter can experience what gameshooting is all about under the watchful eyes of professional instructors and loaders. Whilst the more experienced gameshooter can test their skills against "state of the art traps" mimicking driven grouse and high pheasants. The whole day is enhanced by the hospitality and home cooking provided for in the cosy and friendly atmosphere of the shooting lodge. This experience comes highly recommended."
By Paul Chapman on 12 June 2011
"What a great day out - I haven't shot as much for a long time and it certainly makes for a cracking pre-season warm-up. Terry and his team are knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming and showed us a variety of birds, from grouse through pheasant and partridge, and set them up to be appropriately testing! We'll definitely be back....."
By Martin Walport on 6 June 2011
'Possibly the best simulated days I have ever been to! Drummond excells due to the fact that you are actually out on the moor, in the woods, along the river etc. After our first day three years ago, my fellow guns requested that I immediatly book for the for the following season. This will be our third year and we have booked two days as practise for the upcoming season. A simply great and enjoyable day to spend with friends and to get your eye in before raising your gun to the real thing! A day (or two) at Drummond before the season starts, means you are "on target" when the first bird, on the first drive heads straight for you! As you can tell. I cannot recommned it highly enough!'
By Robin Bates, Lincolnshire on 2 June 2011
“Terry, just wanted to say thank you to you and the Drummond Estate for the simulated walked up grouse shooting you put on for the team and I prior to us shooting the real thing for the first time. The team really appreciated being able to shoot these targets over a heather moor just like the real thing. Look forward to seeing you next year before the start of the season!"
